uke rope binding
Anyone out there know of a supplier for traditional uke rope binding?
Re: uke rope binding
You could try, Gurian Instruments, Seattle, USA...I enjoy using their quality products & open minded approach to new design!

Re: uke rope binding
There will be an article in a forthcoming American Lutherie on making rope binding (slightly adapted from my also forthcoming book on building ukuleles) The GAL asks that I don't publish it before it comes out in the journal, but I could I could make 'draft' versions available for comment if requested.

Graham, I would like a read of your draft as well if possible.
In the meantime, DoMo have rope binding here:
http://japarts.ca/DoMo/DoMo-Purfling-Wood.asp
Scroll down to the 760B and see if the dimensions suit the purpose.
Bear in mind that this is a Canadian website, prices in Canadian $$s are very close to $AU...the items are shipped from Japan so postage from Japan will be added when emailing for a quote. Also the main online outlet for Gotoh tuners (not a great range available here in Aus) and UoChicU files. Cheers! Ross
