Tiny little sticks
You know those tiny little sticks they make classical rosettes out of can you buy them or do you have to make them yourself?

Re: Tiny little sticks
Thanks John, I missed them when looking over the LMI site, that'll do me.

Re: Tiny little sticks
I didn't buy any sticks in the end. I had some mahogany and some walnut veneer that mainly collected dust so I dragged it out to have a go. One was a thinner veneer than the other so I just had to plan around the difference. This type of rosette is a first for me and just like many firsts I really enjoyed making it.

Nicely done, especially if the first time at it.

Re: Tiny little sticks
Cheers Steve. I meant to add too that I have to wonder if the dyed maple veneer or sticks might be a tad better as when you get down to these little bits of wood a open pore can be huge crevice compared to the size of the bit of wood. Mind you in the end you don't usually view it with a macro lens so it still looks right for normal viewing.

Yeh, no one ever looks eyeball to eyeball at a rosette, its the general appearance it gives, quite like the effect you have achieved

Re: Tiny little sticks
That rosette sure looks good. I have a stack of veneers, I just have not been able to push myself to make my own rosette. Yours is certainly an inspiration.
Re: Tiny little sticks
Well done. Plenty of patience required there.
