Concert Uke Sound Clip

Post by ozziebluesman » Tue May 13, 2008 9:34 am

The Concert Uke had a few buzzing note so it has been in the workshop for the past week. It has to go back tomorrow so i thought while it was here, a few sound clips would be a good idea. A few people have asked for sound clips so here we go.

Please go to www.myspace.com/ozziebluesman

I've used the Standard European Tuning A D F# B but i'm not sure what pitch as i tuned the uke to suit my voice register. The first is part of a song is by "The Eel''s and i'm not sure what its title is. The second is the first part of the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". I don't watch TV much but there is an add i hear occasionally of a uke playing this song with vocals and boy it sounds good!!!

The tunes have been recorded direct into the condensor mic patched to the Zoom MRS4 recorder. There are no addd effects, just a raw take. One song has some natural reverb because i faced the corner of the room but the other i forgot to.

Anyway, just a bit of fun.

Cheers

Alan

Hey Ozzie that was great! In fact I listened to all of your clips and really liked them all too. "Baby Lets Set A Day" is my favorite and I have to say that you have some real talent bro!

Thanks for that! :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl

Excellent Alan, great sounding instruments and first class performance. I may need to do a Uke as well.

Cheers

Thanks Allen, Hesh and Kim for your compliments.

Yes on seeing the uke made for my son's birthday my daughter has put in an order. I have had so much fun messing around with the little uke that i am going to make two, one for Alison and one for myself. I'm using some opportunity grade Indian Rosewood for the back and sides and both will have a bunya top. The Queensland Maple slab will give me a couple full size, one piece neck blanks to make the spanish heel style neck for them.

Should be a fun little project!

Cheers
