Ok it has taken a long time to get a a sound sample of this guitar but I managed to travel over to Magnetic Island via the ferry today and visit my son. We spent the day in his recording studio and recorded one of his own instrumental songs called "Keyhole". The recording setup is a Mac computer, small four channel mixer, two SM 58 mics and a k&k pickup system in the guitar. We set up for recording with the two mics positioned in the X Y configuration, one mic pointed at the 12 fret looking at the sound hole and the other at the bridge looking at the sound hole. We achieved a nice volume balance between the three recording positions with the mics about 10 cm away from the guitar. It is a dry recording and there maybe some noise from the road and the dogs barking if you listen carefully. It was a fun day and we will do it again soon. Here is a link to the MP3 called "Keyhole". The guitar is tuned to CGCGCE I think and a capo on the second fret.
Here is a link to the guitar pictures in the gallery:

Re: Dreadnaught Sound Sample
Thanks for going to the trouble of recording and then posting here Alan it's nice to put sounds to pictures sometimes. Just listening through ear buds so probably not the best frequency responses, the lower bass frequencies are hard to pick up (recording compression losses?)but the mids and highs sound nice and crisp and the guitar sounds very 'responsive'.

Too good to miss Alan so I moved the thread into the main forum so that it gets more attention..I also took the liberty of editing the original topic you posted about this guitar adding a link to your excellent sound file there as well.
Great work, I always look forward to Ozziebluesman sound files because I reckon you could play a fish gut tennis racket and make it sound like them delta tears.
Cheers

Re: Dreadnaught Sound Sample
Thanks Kim I appreciate you like our music.
It is a great sounding Dready even if I do say so myself. Steve has 13s to 56s on it now and it really is big.
Nick you are right the bass is down but a capo does take away from an overall tone of an instrument.
