Progress on my SJ-walnut/lutz

Hello everybody,
this is an SJ I've been building with a great Lutz top from our buddy Shane. It has a black walnut back and sides,solid mahog neck,ebony binding,
adi braces, and Braz.rw- bridge,fb,headstock overlay,rosette,butt joint,top purfling. There is still quite a bit to do before lacquer...

That's really sweet, Dave. I've got to do some walnut. Yours and Martins both look really good. I've glued up a beautiful walnut laminate neck, but it is for a banjo. Good choice of woods all around, I like it a lot.

Gotta say Ron, even if I didn't get my walnut for free, I'd still be buying it, it works so well, bends like butter and even SMELLS lovely!!!
Sorry I'm not from the Southern Hemisphere.....

I have an aunt in New Zealand and another in South Africa, can I still play?

This is a wonderful guitar ,,period.

Your craftmanship really shows here, and the appointments are 'just right'.

Beautiful rosette mate. ! Sometimes I think guitars in the white look so good , it's a shame to put finish on them.

Craig,Bob I like em in the white too. I might do a satin on my next.I liked the look of that Lowden that someone(can't remember who)posted on the OLF. It wasn't very shiny, and looked great!

Thanks a lot Rod, This is my 2nd from scratch. I did build 3 kits from Stew-Mac so - 5 total. I'm still very much a newbie. :)

I like these brw fb.'s much better than ebony . I'm stickin' with em. Yeah Hesh, Steve does have some great braz.That's a nice one too! I really liked Zootmans braz.f.boards too!

Dave, this guitar just exudes class. Really elegant. The Walnut is understated and framed beautifully.
