CNC Fairies

Post by Jeremy D » Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:33 pm

Just had a visit from the CNC fairies.

Image

I work as a programmer and I have built some software for a large CNC factory. They were nice enough to put a job through for me today. It was on packing sheets too so it cost me nada!!

Pretty happy with the results. The small pieces on the right have a slight radius in them so I can use them to make a sled for dished work boards. From memory 15 and 34 foot. The mold and bending form is for a GA. I hope to build a couple and try and sharpen up my joinery skills (and everything else). Next will be #2 for me so still very green :D .

Whilst I still love using my hands, nothing can beat a cnc for repeatability and accuracy, wouldnt know what to do if I lost mine

Yeah, but how would you 'finish' the 'date' properly?

Yea, lucky bugger. I am still waiting for my CNC to arrive and am beginning to wonder if it will ever arrive. Is looking like a big mistake.

Have you purchased a machine? I am very intrigued by this, they seem to be getting very cheap but it seems like it would be a minefield working out which machine to buy, software etc.

What is it you want to do with it, this will determine what type of machine you need or accessories that are needed
