Thanks Frank.

I would like to place a bid but don't want to cut off anyone from here whose's already done so.
I'll wait till late tonight before bidding, so please let me know.

Thanks

Ok, cheers Bruce, I've placed my bid.

And thanks for bringing it to my attention Frank.
Do you still use your home made version?

I still have it, but bought this same Carbatec unit last year with proceeds of a guitar sale.
There are things I can't do with the Carbatec unit though that I can do with my homemade job. So I have this dilemma in our downsized home where I don't have room for the big old mother, but can't give it away. I'm considering downsizing it so that I can still do those extra jobs but use less floor space when stored - in fact fit under a bench.
Happy bidding in the last 20 sec of auction, which is when I place my bids!

Frank

Yep - Bruce had his boot full of tops to do too...

Still, in all honesty Craig, I don't necessarily think it was a huge bargain at $450ish.

Consider that they sell for $700ish new, though not with a stand. Pick one up on sale or at a woodshow (usually packaged with a stand that way) and you may not be too far off that second hand price. Or at least, enough extra to justify for an unused machine with a 3 year warranty.

I note that the ebay sellers ad did not mention condition or usage, but it was 11 years old so would have seen a fair amount.

No big loss I'd say.

Jeremy.

Does anyone know if you can buy parts for this sander? The two rollers that drive the feed belt which are rubber over a steel rod have perished on mine. Unfortunately the belt does not run true any more! Wondering if the rollers would be available to buy.

Thanks

I had to replace the the front feed roller on mine for exactly the same reason Alan - I got a replacement from Brisbane Carbatec. Mine was < 3 years old, so still under warranty and they replaced it for free.
