Finishing off my kit dreadnought

Post by drjay1948 » Sun May 06, 2012 1:41 pm

Hi
I am a returning lurker and would like to ask if you can put me in touch with a guitar builder in the Melbourne area who would be interested in finishing off my kit built dreadnought (Stewart Macdonald). It requires setting up, general fret dressing and applying a finish.
I have tried to finish it with shellac but it is not the best of jobs. This is my first project so I am keen to get it up and playng correctly.

Best

My advice for what it is worth, would be to sand off the finish and have another go, also what ever problems you are having with the set up, post the problem and someone will help.
at the end of the day it may not be perfect but it will be YOUR guitar :D

That's a pretty good offer. You won't have many polishing questions left after seeing Rob. Most likely sort out the set up as well.
