Looking for a small bit of Tiger Myrtle

Hello folks,

I am in the middle of making a couple of myrtle and King Billy hardanger fiddles and realized that I haven't got a piece of suitable Tiger myrtle for a neck to match the body of one of them. I need a piece 50x50x350mm with the grain vertical to one edge (or parallel to another, if you know what I mean). Attached is a pick of the back if it is possible to get some kind of colour match it would be good. If anyone can sell/swap/barter me a bit it would be appreciated

Sorry Graham, I thought I could help when i saw the header but I only have flat plates. Did you check out the wood show last month? I am sure I saw some sticks there. I ended up getting enough Padak to make 12 bridges a lovely quartered bit of red cedar for an archtop back and electric bodies and some King billy pine for brace wood all for less than $100.
You could always try to Tassie wood suppliers. i ordered some wood a couple of weeks ago and they sent it very quickly. Got it from these guys and they were familiar with the needs of luthiers. http://www.tasmanianspecialtimbers.com. ... yrtle.html

Good luck, really cool looking instrument. Is it going to have a cool grained fretboard or is it ebony? I was fantasising with Mr Clancy about a tiger myrtle archtop. Be lovely but a hard thing to do when you think how many flat tops you could out of the wood.

Graham, are you thinking of a bookmatched neck so it copies the back. If you could get the pattern even that would be impressive.
