Yes, the thread is down. Some hours before it worked. I seems that the admins over there found it inappropriate that someone joined their forum only to offer his wood (it was his first message).

This wouldn't be the reason.......people often join up with the Ubeaut forums just to hock something on the market place subforum. The most likely reason would be if the guy is running a wood business and didnt have prior approval from admins to advertise his wood.

That's a new thread with new text, but same offer with same pictures. ;)

Today I bought some plum wood (not much) at nearly the same price per m³

I just did a rough calculation, that WWF Mahogany is about $ 7000 M2 .
I have a list in front of me that is a load of Brazilian Mahogany from a deaceased woodie down Frankston way in Melbourne, the family are now selling it off ,
70 boards
25mm 38mm 50mm 100mm thick $ 13500 M2
I can pass on a name and phone number through a pm if any one wants it.

It's not extremely easy Martin. Do you want your niece to carry some trees home?

There are quite some plum trees here around (not that much as cherry though) but most lumberyards only want to process the ones with stems longer than 2 meters :? and our plum trees usually don't grow that high. Finding plum at a lumeryard is almost a bit strange.

The pile I spotted is quite old and dirty, and obviously the best boards have been picked out years ago. All of what is left are narrow boards from meagre trees and most boards have so much twist that my neck started to ache as I looked at it. Just for fun I carried also cutoff piece of twisty plum home:

Now that is runout!
