I attended a wonderful concert in Canberra last night featuring the Brazilian guitarist Guilherme Vincens.
The music covered both classical and Latin American works by popular composers. The MC when introducing
Guilherme said that he had come to Australia to collect a new guitar made for him by Steve (Zbigniew) Gnatek
of Sydney. Guilherme arrived in Australia on Friday and used his new guitar in the concert. To me the guitar
had a well balanced tonal range with a rich mellow timbre. Guilherme was so impressed with his new guitar
that he said Mr Gnatek was in his opinion one of the best guitar makers in the world at present. Great praise
for an Australian luthier. If you have a chance to see Guilherme Vincens play whilst he is in Australia I would
recommend that you do so.
