Re: Hollow body electric
Very puurrrrdy Rod, love the red colouring against the stark white of the binding. The TV Jones look nice against the Bigsby too, one classy instrument. Couple of questions, Firstly of course, how do the TV Jones sound? They are marketed as excellent 'rockabilly' pickups aren't they? Secondly does the Bigsby have much clearance between it & the top?

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Re: Hollow body electric
Thanks Nick,, As far as the Bigsby goes i'm not sure what you mean as regards to the clearance between it and the top, it actually sits on the top, the top is 7mm thick and has ample support beneath the contact points of the tailpiece and bridge and the pickup peno's. The T.V.'s,,, well these little buggars have got four balls when it comes to giving out grunt. This instrument has been played at several different rockabilly gigs by two different muso's and both dudes couldn't get over how much grunt this instrument puts out, As a comparison, both guys work horse instruments are Gretch syncromatic.
Also Nick, the strings, first off i put flat wounds on, not enough twang, put on round wound 11's, what a difference, rockabilly heaven, amazing what a difference strings make hey.
Cheers,,,,

Like everthing about the archtop Rod. Beautiful instrument and the pictures are the finishing touch the guitar deserves.

Very classy indeed.
I do love the look of the hollow body electrics - and this one is a bewdy. Love the wide body and the soft cutaway.
