Would one of you more experienced computer savvy people be able to explain in simple terms how one can post a link on here from another site, say youtube for example. Thanks in advance if you can help.
Cheers,,,, Rod.

Try this Rod:
Your link goes between the I found that if I didn't have the www bit it wouldn't work. You also don't want any guff after the v=RjKglYx2XTE bit (like &feature=player_embedded in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXcjPS3K ... r_embedded).

Code: Select all

Re: Posting a link
I can't do a screen shot (must learn that one myself) but when you write a thread or post in a thread you will notice all those boxes at the top of the reply box, Steve has pointed out the youtube one but you can click the "URL" one and copy/paste the URL from the address bar at the top of your browser when you are on the web page you want to post. Just copy/paste the URL in between the square looking brackets like this......[ url] http://www.anzlf.etc [ /url] I have added spaces in there so it won't work as a link but you can see what I mean I hope

Re: Posting a link
So how do you add in a link that just works by clicking on a word instead of a url.
like when people write "You can find it here"
I just changed the colour but you get the idea

Re: Posting a link
You highlight the word you want to make the link then hit the URL button.
This will put on either side of the word you would like to use as a link. Such as this link
Then you place the http:///www.someplace.com code after an = sign within the first so it ends up looking like this. [url ... the last then you won't be able to see the code, so I've omitted it.
You can also get a tip directly below all those link buttons. Run your cursor over them and you'll notice that the text directly above the text box you are typing up a post in will change relative to the button your cursor is over.
