Tom, what part of Montana are you in?

I live in the south central part of the state, 30 miles east of bozeman and 90 miles north of Yellowstone Park.

I've been through that part once, but I've made several trips up the west side into glacier and one trip across the state lengthwise. I've been to 40 states, and Montana is, by far, my favorite. Absolutely beautiful.

I spent some time photographing in Bannack, ever been there? A great ghost town in the sw corner. I hope to make it back there in a couple of years for more photos.

If I thought I could get used to the cold winters, I'd consider living there myself.

Hi Ron,

I have never been to Bannack, but there is no shortage of ghost towns in Montana. I did live in Sw Montana up until 2 yrs ago. Winter is not an issue for me since I grew up in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
Mark Twain spent some time in Montana, here's what he had to say.
"The nicest winter I ever spent was summer in Montana" How true my first time here was in 1993. On the fourth of july I woke up to 4" of fresh snow. Back then I lived at 7800'. I live at 5000' now, much better.
