Gore and Gilet's The Books - Edition 3 now available

Post by Trevor Gore » Fri May 24, 2024 2:02 pm

After being too long out of stock, supplies of the 3rd Edition of Contemporary Acoustic Guitar Design and Build are now available, but currently only from here.

There are many small detail changes, but the major ones include:

1) A much better index
2) A new foreword by Gernot Wagner of double top fame
3) Another way of setting up the relief on classical guitars
4) How to do an "invisible" installation of a transparent pick guard
5) More in-progress-through-to-finishing spectrograms in Build

plus the usual attempts at avoiding possible ambiguities, correcting typos and few new photos.

Unless you're really keen, probably not worth updating from Edition 2, but those with hard-worked copies of Edition 1 may wish to refresh their texts, as cumulatively there have been quite a few revisions since 2011 (yes, it really is that long ago!).

Over the next few weeks I will also put up spare drawing sets as a separate purchase option.

Happy reading!

And what exactly were you doing to stick the pages together??

Maybe it's time to invest in Ed 3; but a warning, some of the pics are even more provocative!

It happens while you're trying to lay in carbon fibre tow with epoxy resin and trying to read The Books at the same time :)

But it's ok....I now have two sets of The Books. One is the working set and the other is the coffee table set.
