Elvis has entered the building
At last I can share the build that I completed for the Elvis Movie. This is a replica of the Gibson Super 400 that belonged to Scotty Moore and featured in the 68 comeback special. There was a really tight deadline of 3 weeks to build, spray, make metal parts etc whilst still running my guitar making school and my design business (lot to be said for being an old ADHD kid).
I've made a video of the build process and the link is here:

Here's also some pics.

It is amazing that they go to this much authenticity for the movie - and incredible that you could deliver it Martin. I am wondering if they were that authentic about Elvis’s socks and undies and everything else - or is it just because the guitar is such a star in the show?
Martin, how much information about the original guitar did you have to work off?

I was given no info other that it was a Gibson Super 400. The rest was down to a lot of googling about the guitar and Scotty Moore (who owned the original guitar). I also couldn't find any plans anywhere so drew up my own and went from there. The metal bits were tricky as I hadn't dome any metal work before but I am just an old ADHD kid so once you remove the need for sleep and throw in a little OCD (c'mon, I can hear the knowing grins from here) it was just a case of getting stuck in and doing it. It was exhausting but rewarding.
