Hi Matthew, great work. I just viewed this thread for the first time this morning, just doing a slide show of your photos and comments and really enjoyed it.
I've repaired a few basses and cellos over the years, mostly those used by the education system, so I can appreciate the dramas associated with hidden metalwork. I've seem some creative repairs done by teachers or the school handyman.
I find it rare to find a customer willing to pay for such extensive, careful and precise work.
