Re: Clean a record with Titebond 2
Very useful hint, thanks for sharing. Glad someone else did the experiment, I probably wouldn't have the guts to try it first. But there's a problem now, I don't have Titebond II, would someone please try if it also works with Titebond I ?

Bit ballsy of the guy to spread it on the actual record player. If he'd missed it might have been bye bye turntable

I know when I've used plastic containers in the past and applied titebond with a brush it is quite easy to get off the plastic. Yeah the improvement was huge!

Pity they don't still mass produce recordings on Vinyl, there's a few artists (Justlin Bleeder and Wrong Direction to name just a couple) I'd like to try this trick out with. Mind you, to really get them clean I'd probably use epoxy.

Only recommendable for historical recordings, try with those old wax cylinders.kiwigeo wrote:Would hide glue work?

The way he was shaking beforehand, he was either really nervous or a doddery old bastard! So it was never going to end up going smoothly either way.

No, an entire one!needsmorecowbel wrote:This one Markus?

The good news is that now all surviving cylinders are worth a bit more as there is one less of them.Nick wrote: So it was never going to end up going smoothly either way.
