Amazing lot
In between fighting fires in places and heavy rains in places, you guys manage to pick up the pieces and move on...and maybe even build an instrument or two in the hiatus between extremes.
You're an amazing lot, and - even though you may be used to adversity - I wish you moderate weather and more time to build and play instruments.
Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.

THANKS for thinking of us. Much appreciated.
Re: Amazing lot
Thanks for the thoughts Dennis.
It's bucketing down with rain here in The Adelaide Hills...Ive just been outside with my ear against the rainwater tank listening to the lovely sound of the water running into same.
Adelaide hit a new summer record day before yesterday...12 days with temps exceeding 40degC.

Re: Amazing lot
Man, if it was that hot in Adelaide, how hot was it in the traditionally hottest places in Australia? 60°C+ ???

Is everyone at ANZLF accounted for? Fires in Perth...one man died (dammit, Kim, let the shed full of treasure wood burn! Get out!) Fires all over SA and NSW and Victoria (close enough to Melborne to close the airport from smoke)... I sure hope all of our loved ones are OK and that there is only property damage.
Last year it was Queensland getting flooded... another (luckily smaller) cyclone this year, but heavy rains/flooding in the west and northeast, continued drought in other areas. WA heatwave even killing the coral. Adelaide hit 114°F (46°C), road tar melting in Tasmania...
I'd joke about how badly you must have pissed off Mother Nature, but I'll save it until after I hear that everyone is OK.

A few years ago when I worked land rigs in the deserts of northern South Australia I can recall days when the mercury got to 49degC.....you had to be careful you didnt touch any of the darkly painted parts of the rig.Dennis Leahy wrote:Man, if it was that hot in Adelaide, how hot was it in the traditionally hottest places in Australia? 60°C+ ???

Thanks Dennis,
Just recently we endured a ambient of 56deg with 60kph winds from the east here at the Onslow gas project, birds were dropping from the heavens, blokes were dropping like flies & for that day only, the bloody flies were non-existent.
Thankfully the ice machine room kept on bbbrrrrrrrrring!!!!!
