I'm going for a bridge of around 19mm
I an using walnut with a bone saddle
This has my adjustable neck angle arrangement , so I should be able to set the bridge to that and adjust the neck for action
Thanks Auscab, hopefully it looks good with some FP.I have just used totoishell binding going for a subdued D18 look.

Jeff, does this mean that the fingerboard extension isn't going to be glued to the top? Or have I failed to grasp the concept?

That's right, I reinforce my fretboard extension with a steel bar and it sits 2mm or so above the soundboard.

I did almost the same on my last Maccaferri build, I used carbon fibre (rectangular) rods instead, but of course they were laid the 'wrong' (flat) way & I had some flex at fingerboard's end so I had to end up gluing a small block over where the transverse brace was, to bridge the gap to stop the flex.

That is why I use steel. While it is light, CF is not as stiff as the eqivalent crossection of steel.
I want the extension to look unsupported but be stiff and have a bit of mass
I use a 32x3 bar embeded in the fretboard about 2.5mm extending about 30mm onto the neck
I have done this on about half a dozen builds and it works.
