Nice New Shiny Toy
Nice New Shiny Toy
Hi All ,
Just thought I'd share some pics's of my new toy , the LMI deluxe side bender , nice bit of gear, just assembled it
It was the Usual LMI process to order it , but it turned up and I can't wait to give it a whirl.
Cheers,

Very nice Paul...I am a big fan of anything with buttons, lights, and switches, and regardless of what anyone may say, there really is some quality comfort that comes out of controllability. Knowing where you have been with a record of accuracy to the degree provided by a PID can be a good foundation from which to explore the boundaries which could prove to be a handy thing before one commits a 'really' exie set from the stash to the wrack.

Where's the excitement, the thrill of risking an exxy side set with something like that. Makes bending too predictable and boring.........LOL
Looks great Paul.

Kim, I'll be just happy to make my first truly symetrical GuitarVery nice Paul...I am a big fan of anything with buttons, lights, and switches, and regardless of what anyone may say, there really is some quality comfort that comes out of controllability. Yeah well I'm a Dr Who fan so if I was to have a heat blanket controller in the shed, it had to look like I stole it from the Tardis or I wasn't interested. Well a few years back I looked and looked but could not find anything with the required mojo..so I designed my own with bits from ebay and odds and sods I had laying around...seems to work well too because the chicken cacciatore turns out perfectly every timeozwood wrote: after Buying the cheaper alternative a few times , or half arsed atempt at making stuff myself , I thought This time I'd just buy something decent.

But that don't mean that there's no room for some of these in the arsenal.

Re: Nice New Shiny Toy
Nothing half arsed about your controller Kim, infact the oposite is true there are at least af few features that are purely Dr Who .

Kim, I think you need a couple of glowing valves on top of that to warm up the sound.
Everyone knows that digital is too sterile.

Yeah well I was going to go with a Tesla Coil on top to give that full shock and awe treatment when you hit the go button but thought it may get a little distracting during the bending process..
But perhaps your right Jeff, maybe a couple of EL134's 'would' be the way to go..

Ive been eyeing that unit of myself for a while now as well
Good purchase, if you could let us know exactly how well it works.

Just placed an order for one, with all the various body profiles
Took a while to save some spare cash up, but looking forward to getting and using it.

You definitely should have gone with the Tesla coil addition...
Nice controller Kim!
I friend over here in the States has the LMI rig, and it's quite a nice unit. I really like the small heat blanket for the all-important waist area.

Re: Nice New Shiny Toy
Finally Got around to using it tonight , the last two Guitars I have made have been commisioned one off's , so I was pretty happy and somewhat releived when my latest order was for a 000 , I have a molds for that, so away I went , quickly watching the Robbie O'brien Tute as a refresher before starting , it was fast , idiot proof and delivered excellent results, maybe the first symetrical guitar I have built
. Money well spent IMHO.
Cheers,
