All dry and dandy down here in South Australia. Seems to be the only part of Australia not battered by natures fury of late. of course theres always next summer.....and the ever present risk of a bushfire.

Everything seems to be going around the Northern Rivers this year. Thank goodness. Thoughts go out to any not so lucky :!:

Barely had a wet season at all this year. Even had to water the gardens a couple of times this last couple of months. And usually we would have had a few metres of rain by now.

We had 80mm of rain over the last 24h. Has been raining non stop for the last 3 days. Have had only 2 days of sunshine in 2 weeks. Bega river has flooded twice, but only minor flood level fortunately. Everything is saturated, many roads are closed. The main highway between Canberra and Bega is likely to be closed for at least a month due to 20m of the road slid down the mountain. We are high and drying out, no leaks.

Here is the Bega river today, picture taken from my front verendah. Usually it is not much more than a creek.

Good to hear Peter, hillside residences have some advantages! I see Sydney had a torrential downpour yesterday, you guys are really getting hit over there!

That's the difference between there and here Peter. We use to live in Batemans Bay, and I don't think we saw rain for the first 2 years we lived there. Up here in Cairns we can get 75mm of rain in an hour and hardly notice it 5 minutes later.
