Congratulations Bruce of Heartstrings guitars!

Post by Nick » Fri Mar 09, 2012 5:44 am

All of Bruce's guitars sold for a total of $111,000! during the recent Trademe auctions with all monies going to the Christchurch art's community to help them with their earthquake recovery.Further details here http://www.heartstringsnz.co.nz/the-auction.html
Thanks Bruce for the workmanship & time you put into these guitars and the prices they achieved reflected the heart, goodwill & intent that was crafted into each piece.

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Yeah I was Martin but the guy at Treetech (who have the logs in their yard) is harder to get hold of than a butcher's prick! Infact it borders on downright rude in my mind, I've sent emails, left phone messages & he hasn't even bothered to take 30 seconds out of any of his obviously, very busy days, to reply  .
So the whole 'value' of building earthquake guitars has lost some of its appeal now being over twelve months since the 'killer' quake and it would be probably another twelve months before it's dry enough to work with. By that time, I suspect most people would have moved past the memorial stage & just wanting to get on with life.

I'm over in April so lets jump in the lime green Commodore and crash through the bugger's front gate at 120k/hr. I'll distract the Rottweillers while you grab the wood and we'll make a clean getaway.
