"The discovery also shows that it was much warmer in the region at the time than had been thought previously, perhaps even warmer than today, he added."

Don't tell Tim Flannery :D

At times through the rock record there is evidence to suggest that the earth didnt just go through greenhouse conditions....there were periods when the earth went through "hot house" conditions. Some of these periods coincide with mass extinctions.

It's a shame that Gillard, Garnaut,Flannery & Co were not around in those day's , They could have saved those mass extinctions simply, With a carbon Tax :D

Wall-E isn't as fantastical as the animated movie made out, a glimpse into the future I'd say. Look around & there's already people who can't communicate with each other unless there's some form of computer in front of them. Was in a resturant the other week & there were a couple at a table both tapping away on their touchscreen cell phones, not a word uttered between them. I imagine if one of them had actually spoken to the other, the other would have died of fright! I just about shoved the female's one up where the sun don't shine, she had the keystroke sound on & it was feckin loud, I was trying to have a nice meal with my partner & all we could hear was this aroggant tart tapping away!
 Sorry, got a bit off topic there Richard.

I've seen worse...4 people at a table outside my local pub comparing ring tones on their mobiles.

Obviously not luthiers. They would have compared the ring tones of their recently acquired tonewood.

I must confess I did once check out the tap tones on the old oak bar they used to have there. When they renovated the bar they chucked out all the wood.....
