Have you been out to Sumner lately? The causeway is a mess and just past the Yacht club they've stacked up shipping containers to stop rocks falling off the old seacliffs from reaching the road.Nick wrote:Spent most of the day negotiating bleedin great holes & hills in the roadingkiwigeo wrote:Quiet day in Christchurch Nick?
Haven't ventured out that way Martin, I've been trying to stay away from areas that I don't need to go to (I know what it's like to have your house shake everytime a truck rumbles down the road & clouds of dust get stirred up by traffic since the September 4th quake! Every truck shakes the whole house & you think it's an aftershock). But yesterday I had to go down past Kate Sheppard, don't know if the road has sunk or the bridge has lifted but they've had to put some Tarmac 'packing' in to make a ramp up to the bridge...one or the other has shifted about 18". Then had to come back through Brighton, it's times like that I wish I'd bought the Commy with standard suspension rather than the stiffer "S" version, talk about all jar your teeth!kiwigeo wrote:Have you been out to Sumner lately?
