Have been super busy of late, this is fresh out of the workshop,
we named it "falling leaves " the customer can't wait to get his hands on it.

Puriri fretboard & bridge
Rosette/fret inlay Paua vine & falling leaves
everything else is pretty standard.
enjoy,
Christian.

Gorgeous, and you do a very tidy job on that inlay. Is the paua laminated or straight shell?

Lovely work Christian, it strikes the right balance for me of being well dressed but not too 'blingy', nice subtle touches & the workmanship is obvious. No wonder the customer's keen to take possession. I'm loving the Kauri top, nice 'open' grained piece. What size is the body? hard to get an idea of scale from the pics but looks like a small jumbo size? & one more question (sorry
), is that an oiled finish or a satin sprayed finish?

Beautiful inlay work Christian in what is a very tasty looking instrument.
Re: " Falling leaves" custom guitar.
Lovely work all-round Christian, the inlay had every chance of becoming too much, but the class of your cut has pulled it all into a wonderful piece that is very tasteful indeed....must ask, who is your shell supplier? The colours are superb.

Re: " Falling leaves" custom guitar.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys.
was certainly alot of work, and indeed it could have gone overboard with to much razzle dazzle inlay.
the paua shell is laminated i buy 200mm square sheets locally for NZ 38.00
you can buy it online from http://www.oceanshellnz.com/
Nick the body size is L 516mm LB 395mm UB 288mm D 105mm and 95mm not sure what size that would equate too?
the finish is not very apparent in the pics but its mega glossy, i use mirotones PU sealer and gloss PC 3220 topcoat.
Cheers,
Christian.

Did you do the inlay on the top by hand? Bloody marvellous job however it was done. Thanks for posting.
Re: " Falling leaves" custom guitar.
I got to play this beauty the other day and it's just gorgeous. Feels really good in the hands, nice size and weight. Beautiful tone - plenty of midrange and bass. When I first picked it up out of the case I was talking to Christian at the time and my voice must have a hit a suitable frequency for sympathetic resonance at one point because I noticed the guitar practically coming alive in my hands.
It's finished to a very high quality (as is anything I've seen by Christian), with great attention to detail. I believe it will be shipped off to the new owner today or tomorrow; some lucky sod is giving themselves a great Christmas present this year, and I'm jealous it's not me.

That is beautiful Christian - what more can I say. I am not normally a big fan of inlay work, but this is really nice how the neck inlay and rosette are one and the same.
I am sure the owner will be well pleased.

Hi Christian,
grouse looker.
Question: don't mean to be rude, but is the inlay stuck on or in-layed.
in any case great inlay work.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the slow reply, i'm battling jetlag after a horrid flight to South Africa,
thanks for the kind words guys, and the nice review Morgan.
yes the paua is all inlayed, the top and fretboard are laser cut, still makes for a tedius job gluing it all in.
but the results are excellent.
I finished an awesome little acoustic the day before i left, if i could find a 1st world internet connection i would post pics too,
may have to wait until i get home.
hope you all have a super Christmas,
Cheers,
Christian
