If This Doesn't Scare You

Nothing will.

A mate at work decided what with winter coming on and the $225 speeding ticket he just got, its time for him to think about hanging up his gear and getting rid of his motorcycle. Hell, he's only 72!

He gave it to me.

Today I terrified the locals. I wore my backless chaps. And took my first ever ride on pavement to get the bike from work to home. It was an 88km ride with a break in the middle. Had to do it today before the weather went to crap for the next 9 - 10 months. I took secondary roads most of the way, with one 3 mile stretch on a highway. That was a bit of an adrenalin rush.

I'm home and the road are once again safe.

No good without pics Lillian

Puts a new edge on that old description "hell on wheels" (the old owner that is!).

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

1995 Virago 535. Its loud. It misfires and the top end needs to be rebuilt. But it does run for the moment.

Cool Lil, the front of the headers show little discoloration indicating she has never really been thrashed, may be just some fresh oil and a set of clean spark plugs will have her purring again..

Cheers

I'm sure he did Bob.

Kim, as far as I know it hasn't been laid down. I'll quiz Dave tomorrow. Either he as terrible luck with mechanics or the bike is being held together with baling wire and a prayer. It has been the topic of discussion at work on numerous occasions. None of the mechanics have been able to get it running the way it should. I'm not worried about it. The real reason I've got it was to get it out from under his ass and let him save face. I've got the longest commute of our group. He plans on retiring this Spring and felt he should give me the bike to help me out. We all know that he's had a bunch of close calls in the past few months and it's scaring him. This way he saves face and I won't have to make excuses as to why I'm not riding it. Wet nasty weather and all up here.
