My First Post

I have actually tried this before but my post disapeared into the ether! Am I doing something wrong? Anyhow, I'll have another go.
It was good to touch base with Taffy in Charters Towers and check out his you beaut workshop / showroom setup and also some great guitars.
Ditto Allen in Cairns. Saw your guitar in the Cairns art show Allen. Beautiful work.
After about 3 months work, I've just finished my 1st. 000,12. Sasafrass back and sides, bunya soundboard, mulga fretboard,jarrah bindings,maple neck and mulga veneer on the slotted headstock.
Many mistakes on the way--make that (many, many, many). Still they say it's only a mistake if you can't fix it and I've been lucky on that score. I'm happy with the way it turned out and the sound is music to my ears. The next one will be better etc. etc. etc.
Talk about an addictive pastime. I only wish I had started years ago.
Got to go, I've got a guitar to build.

I'd love to see some pictures of it mate.

As far as the addiction goes, well we're all a bit demented I think, constantly having the hand in the pocket for more wood or tools.

But it's fun and keeps me out of the pub for a certain amount of time at least.

Sorry Renieh, I just saw this post, and haven't had a chance to welcome you.

As far as addictions goes, this one might be a real hit to the finances, but at least my wife knows where I am. She also knows that I'm not checking out porn on the internet. It's just the latest listings on ebay

Speaking of porn, my wife thought she had sprung me up to no good when she heard me ooowing and aaahing in front of the computer the other day. She burst in the room to find me drooling over one of Steve Kinnairds guitars and she looked somewhat disappointed
