Richard White Dies
Richard White Dies
Richard Wright, founding member and keyboard player with Pink Floyd died yesterday after a short battle with cancer.
I remember seeing the fledgling Pink Floyd at the UFO club in London in the 60s, a small unknown psychedelic band; Barrett, Mason, Waters and Wright, oil slides on the wall and a strange sweet smell in the air.
All my heroes are disappearing.

RIP, I have many memories of sitting in UV flour lit apartments, silly string all over the ceiling listening to Pink Floyd very stoned and a lot more. Dark Side of the Moon was the theme song of a generation. Actually its a bit surprising I can remember as much as I do.......
make mine fifths........

So, you were the guys with the silly string in my apartment! Probably responsible for spilling the bong water on the carpet too! I did not get my damage deposit back!
If I still smoked pot, I'd roll one up to salute Richard Wright, mourn his passing, and recognize him as the latest band member in The Great Gig In The Sky.
Dennis
p.s. This made me remember the car wreck I got into, in the Colorado mountains, where on my way over a 75 foot cliff, Pink Floyd was playing in my car: "... life is a short warm moment, and death is a long cold rest."

In case no one picked it up from my avatar, Pink Floyd are my all time favorite band. I love all their stuff, Wish you were here, and Darkside gave the band the success they needed to go on as long as they did. Richard was very instrumental in the creation of both those wonderful albams, he will indeed be sorely missed R.I.P.
Speaking of avatars, cut it out Bob! It's freak'in me out man..Every time I look back at the monitor that evil sucker sticks it's head up at me look'in like it wants to eat my flesh man
Cheers

I'd venture to say that all us guys in that age group had a big affair with " The Floyd".
The greatest band ,surely !
Kim and Sebastiaan , I too can recall the party.! I was the guy groovin in the corner digging the oil slides. I can vaguely recall your faces through the smoke haze that wofted around the dark lit room .The wine glasses with candles moving to the musical vibes on the fireplace mantle ,,,,,Wow man ,,,,,,, What a fantastic era , and never forgotten.
Lets all, once again, give them a good listen
R.I.P.
