Stewmac and LMI

The Vendors and Suppliers Forum is where members are encouraged to post up details of suppliers they have used and had a good experience with. If you have had a bad experience with a vendor then please don't post details of same in this forum as we have no desire to end up being the subject of legal action from a disgruntled supplier...or a member. If you have had an exceptionally bad experience with a supplier then PM or email one of the admins. Note that this forum is not intended as a list of ANZLF sanctioned suppliers...we used to have a forum along these lines but after admins were forced to go into bat to help members resolve issues with a couple of vendors we removed the forum.

Stewmac and LMI

Post by kiwigeo » Sat Feb 04, 2023 11:39 am

I think most of us are familiar with the two largest luthier supply companies in the US. Stewmac and LMI.

Prices can be a bit high side for their stuff and once you buy a few things you become convinced that you need everything in their catalogues but I've always experienced speedy service from both companies and in the rare cases where there have been issues they've been dealt with straight away. On one occasion the wrong size dishes were sent to me. LMI sent the correct dishes and let me keep the original dishes....no questions asked.

If you order a fair bit of stuff from Stewmac then consider subscribing to their Stewmax service and you'll save a fair bit on shipping costs.
