Recently, in May 2024, I completed an acoustic guitar build for a client who requested that 'GS' guitar box body depth be reduced to make it more comfortable to play the guitar. Most of the 'GS' models that I have built depths was around:
118mm to 120mm at the tail block end and 88mm to 90mm at the neck joint. The Main Low Resonance Frequencies T1s generally would be 85Hz, !50Hz, 210Hz respectively.
The Hybrid 'GS' version: 114mm at the tail block end and 90mm at the neck joint. The Main Low Resonance Frequencies result for the T1s are 94Hz, 168Hz, 215Hz respectively. This result is very close to the 'Books' table 22-1, for a large SS guitar eg. 95Hz, 170Hz, 214Hz respectively.
I am very impressed with the sound of this guitar it is very well balance with beautiful tone qualities and I will likely now use these dimensions for future 'GS' model builds. See photos below.
