NAF (Native american flute)

Post by Valben » Fri Jan 10, 2020 1:11 pm

Hi, I have been exposed to these cool instruments during my last trip to Hawaii while building a Uke under the guidance of Brad Donaldson As I have showed interest in these flutes construction, Brad built and gifted me a NAF made entirely with KOA timber (many thanks Brad :-) ) which I did learn how to play and used as reference for my kiwi version builds .
I would rank the NAF as the 3rd level priority/passion after guitars and ukes but they still are really cool projects to execute.
Following are the last builds, including a drone flute which is a real fun to play and sounds amazing.
other pics will follow.
