Ancient trades fair

Yesterday have enjoyed a bit of distraction by visiting an ancient trades fair, not too far from my place.

This is the tool that caught my attention, I would really love to own one - only if it comes with the personnel who operates it, of course:

Then, there was this nice plane, maybe to fine tune the thickness the soundboard's edges on the inside after it has been glued to the ribs?

The most disturbing thing though was seeing claimed as "antique workplaces" some workbenches cluttered with handplanes, chisels and shavings which resembled much my own workbench. Does this make me an antique?

No way Markus you need to be 75 or maybe 100 years old. Love the 'Portable milling machine" but it has to be a 2 man job for sure

Hey Markus,

It looks like it was an interesting show...if your really keen on trying out that plane on spruce there's one available on Ebay right now with a half reasonable BIN price and it looks like it's been made especially for a luthier as it to is a little more bent than most.

Kim, that's a nice plane offered on eBay. I probably would grab it if I was into cask making or an avid tool collector. So for now I just copy the pictures.
