Post by Hesh1956 » Sat May 10, 2008 12:03 pm

Well Old Heshie had to have a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday........ Being the fearless sort that I am I opted to be put totally under with IV anesthesia....

Today I am recovering nicely and enjoying my Vicoden.........

Hesh, I offer my sympathies. The first two came out without much of a problem. The other two, well that was a much different experience. I wish I could have had the drugs you did.

I don't know if you were told to exercise your jaw afterwards or not, but I do know it works. You need to open your mouth three fingers wide every 15 minutes for the first 24 then every hour the next. A major part of the pain you feel now is having your head tilted back off of your neck. Those muscles aren't used to spending 45 minutes stretched like that.

If the clot comes out, cut a small piece of gauze and soak it in oil of clove. It will numb the socket and keep it moist.

Take care of yourself.

Symapathy!?!? Must be the Vic's!

If you ever saw what they did when they knock out those bad boys you would count yourself lucky! We're talking literally hammer and chisel BABY!

Some people even die! Though a very few! It's bad!

Take it easy and drop in an "Alvin and the Chipunks" DVD kick back for a couple of days then think about where your life has gone wrong that you deserve this!   :D :D :D

Seriously, keep on the Vic's regularly. Don't wait for the pain to get too tough before you pop'em in! 3-4 days, it will be a lot better! Get better soon Bud!

Cummmonnn ya wimp, get a big bag of salt and vinegar flavour chips, a quart of bad scotch, Star Wars on DVD, a half kg of pop rocks and get over it son! Just think of all that timber waiting for the gentle caress of your hands, of the tuners going rusty... you get the idea.....

You could also just take it easy......

Get well bud,
make mine fifths........

No more wise posts from Hesh, I guess. Just be glad the mouth heals fast, Hesh. You'll be back planning your new shop in no time, or planting grass, or shrubs, or....... New house stuff! :D

Ohhhh you don't look too comfortable, even with the drugs. Tighten your seatbelt, you have a couple more shitty days to go.

Then, you'll feel much better. Except, you will probably trade me your best set of moonscape quilted Sapele for a couple Vicoden.

Heal up quickly, Osama, er, I mean Hesh!

I had three (only had three) out a few years ago. I felt like crap for the first two days following the op, so I can sympathise with you Hesh. One of mine was growing outwards rather than down in the mouth like every other self respecting tooth. The hole it left ended up being almost connected somehow with the sinus cavity. So for a month following the op I couldn't sneeze or cough without it hurting, and forget about blowing my nose... ouch! But, I reckon the worst thing was a real hankering for a good steak that I wasn't able to satisfy for what seemed ages.

Hesh - I know you don't drink and my only offering for getting through something like this would be to drown it with a bottle of 12 year old Jameson Whiskey.

Hope the pain subsides soon mate.

Thanks everyone and I even got the biggest kick out of Billy's suggestion for a warm water rinse........... :D I am not going to try it though......... :D

I feel a bit better today but I am surprised at what a big deal a simple tooth pull became...... I guess as one gets older things are not always as simple as they once were........

Anyway thanks for all the well wishes - you are the finest people on the Internet/planet!
