Guitar ministries

Post by Cookie man » Sat Aug 20, 2011 6:02 pm

Hey guys :)

A few weeks ago I found out about this Christian-based organisation which promotes music (particularly praise and worship) and the gospel by providing guitars to people all around the world. Tommy Emmanuel is quite involved, having donated several of his own guitars to them.

Read all about it here.

Just thought some of you might be interested.

Tommy is well known for his religious beliefs and his gesture doesn't surprise me.

Thanks for sharing this. As a minister and someone who dabbles with and is interested in guitar building, I've wondered how lutherie could have a role in Gospel ministry. I've had some ideas, but had not seen this one. Appreciated.

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.
