Addition to Padmah's temp chart

Post by DarwinStrings » Fri May 27, 2011 5:00 pm

We are freezing to death up here (almost)

59 degree f (15 degrees c) Northern Territorians develop hypothermia walking to the shop.

See the full believe it or not story HERE

I know how you feel jim. 16C here in cairns this morning. Even the dog is cold, she was born and bred up here so doesn't have the genes for a double coat. I managed to find an old pair of long pants in the missus' cupboard. I blew the dust off and strapped them on but what do I do with my feet? how do I reconcile a socked foot with a thong?

I have to admit I manage to pull the explorer socks on loose enough to wedge that thong between my toes still. Only around the house though

Man those must be some tall socks if they're interfering with your thong!

I remember walking around Edmonton admiring the ice sculptures rugged up like the Michelan man shivering. Next to me, my Canadian friend in a flannel shirt, jeans and runners. The temperature was about 20F.

Similarly I was in Karumba one July where it was 22C and the locals were carrying on like it was a blizzard, it takes all types.

How do you think I feel. Born and raised a Canuck, but I'm just as bad as the locals now. Drops below 20 and I'm looking for a jumper and beanie. We didn't even heat our house above 18 back in Canada.

16˚C ??

I remember that... though it's been many weeks since we got up to those lofty heights through the day.

We have been down to -1.6˚C already this year which is kind of 16 if you squint a bit :D

Ahhhh. Socks and thongs, such a good look  8)

No, merely the Jandals, sorry, thongs. Lime green walk socks.....now that would just be silly!

Everybody knows they'd clash with the Red & Black budgie smugglers:wink:
