How many ANZLFers in Auckland?
How many ANZLFers in Auckland?
Out of interest, I was wondering how many people building guitars in Auckland look at this site?
Its not always easy to tell where people are

One can dream
I wish there was an active luthier community in Auckland.
Where in Auckland are you based?

I'm on the Shore. There are a few others lurking about. There are quite a few active luthiers, but I don't think they get together at all, so no community as such. I've met the odd one from time to time. Interesting how long ago that post was!
By the way, we generally add our name to our posts......

Thanks Richard, have updated my signature now
Yeah I thought why not try my luck and see if you reply, and look at that!
I reckon we should really try and get the Auckland builders together, so much wisdom can be shared and gained!

Well since you have given this topic a nudge, let's see if anyone else is interested in meeting up. We can get together, no problem.
I've built 10 guitars of various sorts (maybe I should write a song about that...) but over the last few years have been more focused on learning to play than building. How about you?

Sounds good to me. I think a buddy of mine also knows another builder near Silverdale, so the tally is slowly increasing
. 10 guitars is a pretty good milestone! Congrats.
I haven't build anything yet, just restoring an old cheap classical guitar at the moment. Once I feel comfortable doing the restoration work, then I'll buy a cheap guitar off trademe and practice on it.

Doh..he stole my song title☺
Seriously though this song was the cause of the end of my short and completely invisible career in a covers band a few years ago. Because we weren't very good we seemed to end up playing in shitty pubs until 2 in the morning with no one actually there except the inevitable drunk who wanted us to play 10 guitars...
As I still had a full time job in those days I gave it away. The practices were usually more fun than the gigs. I still miss it though. Had a lot of fun before that drunk guy started following us around and insisting we played 10 bldi guitars☺

Can't sing in Un Zud unless you can do Ten Guitars Bro!
"Jesus Loves You."
Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.
