product review - Woolies homebrand light chips

Post by kiwigeo » Fri Apr 03, 2009 4:56 pm

After watching the new Woolies homebrand light chips being plugged on The BrandPower ads I decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about.

The chips come in a really big looking bag but upon opening the bag and letting all the air out you find what you see is not what you get....a bit loike a politician after you gass off the hot air.

The chips themselves look like someone chewed up some paper, spat it out and stuck it on a wall to dry for a few days. The taste....pretty much like a spitball..very papery. I chucked the rest of the packet outside for the magpies but they wouldnt touch 'em...and they normally eat anything.

So Brandpower you didnt help me by better...in fact I ended up buying something worse!!

They sound like Pringles which is made for a potato paste and formed into a stackable shape so they all fit in a can. As for the light ones, nasty. They leave a coating in your mouth that makes you want to scrub you entire mouth to get it off. I don't think lard would taste as bad.
