G'day Allen,
We have heaped it all up and will drag it out to the curb tomorrow.
That big Ghost Gum in the neighbours shead most of it's branches onto our roof during the 8 hour ordeal wednesday night. Between branches crashing on the roof, howling winds, heavy squawly rain and the neighbours front awning flying over the fence it made for a very nervous night. About 3.30 am I could hear the event start to ease so I managed a few hours kip after that. I don't know how the Gum tree didn't come down. It sure has had a big prune.
We found our resident Sun Birds nest among all the mess. I have made a wire cradle, placed the nest in it and hung it up under the eves of our back patio. They say the Sun Birds always use the same nest and come back to it every year. Or they will find the nest and use the material to build a nest some wher else. Kerry and I are hoping that they will stay in our back yard.
As I said before the flora and fauna has really been devistated here.
I think most here where well informed and prepared for this cyclone so no unessary loss of life!
We have all been very lucky.
Cheers
Alan
