Iranian Inlay Course

Post by kiwigeo » Sat May 26, 2012 9:02 am

Off to an Iranian Wood Inlay course this weekend. My ex neighbour who's an arty type thought I might be interested and I was. Not sure what I'm in for but nothing wrong with adding to the skill set. Who knows this may open up an export opportunity to Iran.

Report on same to come next week.

* Bites tongue to hold back the obvious childish jokes about Iranian wood*

Id be interested to know what difference the Iranian stuff is to the western inlaying techniques, or are we just talking about the arabic influence on design of such e.t.c?
"Jesus Loves You."
Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Cool Marty,

The great thing about Iranian inlay is it is so detailed you only need complete one instrument in your life and your a master...you could even do your lute like this for practice mate :D

Designs and inlay technique are a traditional Iranian method. The instructor is a fascinating woman ...was head of the Museum in Teheran at one stage.
