Good choice Aidan! & Jim
Wouldn't be a G string would it? Requiring several custom fittings
Going to be greedy & pick two! Think my choice would be Victor Wooten in four string mode or Angelo DeBarre for a six stringer.

I agree Jeff but I would still give Kylie one if she asked.

I agree 100%. My guitars get given away on "permanent loan" to musician friends. They're not millionare rock stars...just hard working musos who spend all of their earnings on food and basics. Part of the deal is that if they do become rich and famous then they'll pay me cost of materials for the instrument.jeffhigh wrote:Celebrities are rich enough to PAY for their instruments

Last Christmas a wealthy philanthropist very, very kindly donated a Sydney Harbour cruise to the charity foundation i work for and i was a gracious and grateful lucky guest at this party on his private vessel. His yacht was really spectactular (around 45 metres) more of a ship and it drew too much water to be moored close in so he sent water taxis to pick us all up. Its internal wooden fitout was breathtaking, handmade and carved Jarrah display cabinet with luxurious gold embossed leather top in the lounge with some priceless books dsiplayed under glass...but it was comforting and his staff were so friendly and welcoming. In a way shared his home with us, all strangers and this boat had everything, I mean everything, everything except an acoustic guitar made out of Aussie woods.
If I could afford to donate one then it would go there as strange as it seems, so if anyone came aboard that could play then they could bang out a tune. Some great songs have been written on acoustic guitar.
Steve and my boss said later he has been doing this for years.

A worthy recipient but how long would it last before he'd scratched some holes in the top with his drum brush or nails?Daniel_M wrote:Without a doubt Tommy Emmanuel

Being a huge fan I have always coveted a maton 808 signature series. Of topic but….so I went into a leading guitar retailer here in NSW to check one out and potentially make some sort of purchase. I just could believe the lack of quality (in my opinion) for a guitar that retails at $3K (admittedly you can pick one up for a little over $2K) the heel glue join wasn’t great and the bracing was a little sloppy. But I go the feeling that you could knock out a horse with it. Having said that, I love my maton from the mid nineties which is just a dream to play. Although the neck are a little narrow.
Re: If you were to make a free instrument...
If I was into electric guitars it would have to be Adrian Belew but since I am into ukes it would be Rory Gallagher.
He can play anything with strings on it.

The glass is half full... but I'll have another while your up!
It's not over until Ricky Pontin cries! (Not long now).
Great minds like a think!

For me it would be Peter Combe (not the one on here, but the children's entertainer
)
Everyone should remember him from their childhood (or remember singing the songs with their kids) and he's still touring! how good is that?
He could write a song called 'wash your fretboard with orange oil'
