Other uses for tone woods.

Post by AidanHarris » Wed Dec 15, 2010 9:03 pm

This is more of a show off than anything else. I like showing people what i have done and here is some stuff that I have made over the past 2 years. Some woods are not just designed for music.

The table is out of maple with quilted maple veneer. The blue stripe is annodised ally.

the box is out of Brazillian Manogamy with myrtle veneer in the middle.

the cabinet is Mulga on the out side and WA blackbutt on the inside.

hope you like them :)

Those are very nice Aidan. You been through the Bungadore Gallery much? Those would look right at home up there.

Great work Aidan, you have a good eye for design and a good hand at the edge, like it all very much.

Cheers

Nice work Aidan, I like the separation of the legs on the hall table.

Nice stuff Aidan, I like your eye for design. I detect a slight Japanese influence (intentional or not  ). Think my favourite is the cabinet, the subtle tapering of the legs & the illusion of the cabinet 'hovering' between them. Nice touch with the sapwood running down the centre :D but you might want to bondy up the gaps between the doors

Nice work Adian, they look very well made and useful. I think though, it would be better to hide the drawer runners on the table next time.

I agree with the draw runners. One of things that when its all done you go oooooooooooooooooo damn. Thanks for all the positive feed back.
