Eddie Hansen and Ticket - For Nick O

Post by kiwigeo » Wed Nov 03, 2010 9:14 pm

Hey Nick, if you're not doing much on Nov 12th get down to Als Bar and check out Ticket...reformed after too many years apart. Eddie Hansen was Christchurch's answer to Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan all rolled into one.

Looks like Eddie's cranking through a set of Holden quad boxes and amp head...another great product that came out of Christchurch. At one stage I owned a Gunn 200 watt quad box/amp head that Eddie had used and then sold back to Charlie Jemmett. The amp had been driven hard as the wax had melted out of both the power and output transformers. It had a nice sound though...you cant beat 4 hard working KT88's....you get a great sound and enough heat to fry yourself a couple of googs and a few rashers of bacon for breakfast!

  "The video contains content fro The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds" So I can't watch a Christchurch band from here in Christchurch  Nevermind. These guys were featured on Nightline the other night I didn't realise two of them had gone onto be part of Hello Sailor.Might go along for a geez, chance to air off those bell bottom pants & Paisley shirt, just lacking the fro...or any hair for that matter  .
I remember the Holden amps, bloody bullet proof units if ever I've seen one infact I seem to remember seeing one not so long ago, looked like it had been at ground Zero at some stage but was still churning out some serious volume.
"Jesus Loves You."
Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

I noticed the ABC logo on the bottom of the clip......and I thought it weird to be watching a clip of a Kiwi band on ABC footage. I guess the NZBC considered Ticket's acid rock a bit too "naughty" to be aired in NZ.

I think Bob had a work around using a proxy server to be able to watch blocked videos.

The story behind Ticket's demise is an interesting one. They were supposed to play at Ngaruawahia but pulled out at the last minute. There was a story of one of the lead acts commandering Eddies rig and then wrecking it. I think Eddie wasnt happy before this event and the band was already destined for a break up. A shame as they really were a great band.

It was a program called Hide My IP but it only gives you an IP address from the States I think. Haven't used it for a while.

I did use it for listening to Pandora, which is a US only Internet radio station.

Try looking for an anonymous proxy in the country that you want to appear to be from.
