I'm in Christchurch, New Zealand at the moment visiting family and checking out earthquake damage. Thought id catch up with Nick Oliver while in town so last night we did Indian. It was a very pleasant evening indeed....naturally spent talking guitars and not much else. Nick rolled up in a spectacular looking frog green Holden Commodore...luckily his guitars don't come in the same colour!
My 17 year old niece is a student out at the university where Nick works so tagged along as she wanted to meet Nick as well.....I think she didnt realise shed be sitting listening to a couple of die hard luthiers talking guitars for a solid 4 hours. She did pretty well regardless and reckoned Nick was pretty cool.

No partying Kim....had my niece with us so had to behave. Mind you Nick's green Commodore is definitely a car you'd take out partying.

It was good to finally meet a fellow forum member, feel a little isolated at times here in Hobbiton

To show what an in depth topic this guitar stuff is, after four hours there was still plenty left to talk about & delve deeper into, I reckon it definitely will have to be discussed at further meetings (

We even had a ride past by some of Allen's mates but the weather wasn't warm enough for them to do a full McFarlen, so the chaps were the fully enclosed versions

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.
