There Was A Big Dog In My Yard This Morning....
Heck I know it's not a stinkin dog - do you think that I am stupid??? Don't answer that...
Anyway right when I got out of bed this morning and began my journey into the kitchen to begin grazing... I noticed this deer in my back yard. It kept looking at the house when ever I moved so I only chanced grabbing my stinkin phone to take some not-so-good pics.
But you will get the idea I think...
Sorry for the bad pics.... This is a female since she is good sized and has no horns. You can also see a finch on the feeder. All kinds of critters around here...
Last month I found a mole in a window well, put it in a bucket and transported it to the builder who built my house and let it go in his yard...
I always return things that are not mine...
Thanks for looking!

Your deer reminds me of when we used to visit my best mate's uncle on the west coast of the island we live on (New Zealand is made up of two main islands, north and south- original naming! ). The west coast is mostly rugged bush and the wild deer used to emerge from the bush occassionally right infront of the house, you could sit on the porch and shoot your evening meal if you wanted some fresh Venison.

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Ohhhh - creepy....
Well this morning there was a poltergeist looking bird in the field behind my place. If I was a superstitious sort, and I'm not, I would be afraid to go out today...
So who wants to venture a guess on what this is? I know that many of you have no idea what's indigenous or naturally occurring.... in my area but if you feel like venturing a guess anyway please do.
BTW in terms of scale the wing span is probably 6-7 feet!
Thanks for looking

Good guesses folks! We do have some Golden eagles here and I have seen them a couple of times including a nest that I found along a river.
But Lillian guessed it - this is a Turkey Vulture which are very ugly things with a red head. We don't see the red head here because this one has it's back to us.
Every morning 2-3 of these things sit in this dead tree holding their wings out probably to dry them since I doubt that this is an avian aerobics class...
Here's a couple more pics and one that I dug up on Google to show the red head.
I frequently see them along the road eating road kill. What concerns me is why there are behind my place looking at me every day....

Yep, no feathers on the head, so they can get in the carcass for the good stuff! MMMMMM! MMM! Good!
