Classical guitar - cedar/zebrawood

Hi folks

Just strung up my latest classical guitar - lots of stripes on this one!

Back and sides are zebrawood. Cedar top, gidgee fretboard, sipo mahogany neck. French polished.

Bracing is Friederich style. I followed Courtnall’s Friederich plan pretty closely. There’s a lot of work in the bracing, doubled sides, etc.

I’m happy with how it turned out and will try to see if I can build another the same! It’s super loud (volume goes up to 11!) and powerful - plays a bit more like a lattice than a fan brace but I’m happy with the tone. I made a quick sound recording, just on the iPhone ‘voice memo’ tool - no editing or fingernails…

Gidgee is super hard stuff and I would not want to hand cut a gidgee fretboard again after that experience. Have purchased a new fretsaw as my last one was pretty blunt after that!

Hi, that's a nice-looking build. It is certainly an eye-catcher.
