I started this guitar 5 years ago, it’s spent the last 41/2 years in the too hard basket. I had a lot of trouble getting the neck to fit so I left it for years every now and then I’d have another go. A few months ago I tried again and it just seemed to fall into place, one of those good weird things.
It has a lutz top. Sapele b/s which I found a bit brittle but it looks really nice so it was worth a few splinters. Eirw bridge and armrest. I think the fb is gidgee been so long I can’t remember. Nato neck. Tiger Myrtle bindings. Huon rosette.

Nice one Wayne. Funnily enough Ive got a classical sitting in the workshop that's been a bastard to get the neck fitted.....around 4 years now since I started the instrument.

Thanks Martin. Well I hope you get it sorted out too, I don't have much room so unfinished guitars just take up space. Now it's finished it's taking up a different space lol.

Hi, well, I thought I would join the slackers club and admit I have a nylon build also waiting for a neck. It's a mahogany body with a Ceder top solid body, a la Chet Atkins. I just pulled it off the shelf; it's been there since the late 1990s. There is so much to do—so little time.

I love how this work can be put aside for ages and then you just pick it up again when you can!

So, why the sound port on the treble side? Nothing wrong with that, but I am used to seeing them point towards the player. That one could be good for pointing towards a floor standing microphone?

There's actually 2 sound ports Mark. One either side of the neck.
This guitar was actually a test guitar to see how the raised neck would work and the sound ports were the idea from the client who supplied the top b/s, the idea was if it worked out I'd build him one from BRW that he has. After the trouble I had I refused to build it for him because I didn't want to ruin a set of BRW. I started his classical a few months ago it'll be a normal build.
