New Guitar Story..

The Pacific. TD18
As with many of the guitars I build this one is to commemorate something special in the owner’s life.
This guitar name The Pacific, it is not only a name of a gold mine in my district, as are all my guitars, but it has a link [loosely] to the Pacific Ocean. Hence the nautical-themed inlays around the guitar.
I thought this build was a fitting inclusion to this series of Guitar Stories as the guy that ordered this guitar competed in an around-the-world Clipper race. He started in the UK and finished in Australia and then did the Sydney to Hobart. The guitar was delivered to him on his return.
The guitar is a dreadnaught style with mahogany back and sides, a spruce top, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Maple bindings. The inlays are mother of pearl and ebony.
He had already ordered a guitar for his neighbor, but that’s another story.
Thanks for looking.
