A couple of guitars with Aussie woods

Well, I've been here four years now, so you'd expect me to be starting to use a few Aussie woods. and I am. For my cheaper work I'm gradually phasing African mahogany out and Queensland maple in. For my fancier work, I'm currently building with some lovely Victorian blackwood, and pictured below is a guitar with back and sides laminated with jarrah veneer. For necks I'm using Fiji mahogany and New Guinea rosewood.

Really love the jarrah. My childhood was spent with a father building a clinker-built boat out of jarrah, and it is a tough, but beautiful, timber.

Man that jarrah is beautiful! Your drednaugh looks quite deep at the heel Nigel, how deep is it? Or maybe its the nice slim heel. Beautiful work.

No idea how deep it is. Nothing unusual, it has to fit in a case after all.

Excellent looking Guitar with the Aussie timber. What are your comments regarding how it sounds.
