Lyon&Healy Restoration Demo

Post by ozziebluesman » Sat May 23, 2020 2:54 pm

Hello to you all,

In 2013 I bought a vintage Lyon&Healy parlor guitar for restoration and if your interested the original thread is here:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5250&hilit=lyon+and+healy

The guitar restoration was finished in 2017 and I have played the guitar since then often. It has opened up nicely and is a little beauty. Recently with plenty of time at home I decided to buy a video audio device to demo a few of my guitars. The videos are raw and no effects added so I hope you will enjoy them as I have the whole journey with this little guitar.

Thanks for listening.

Cheers

Alan

Hi Al

You have done a great job on the restoration, take a bow.
Is the body size of the Lyon and Healy similar to the Torres FE 17?
I enjoyed your playing. Thanks for the post.

Hi Bruce and thanks for your comments.
Yes it would be very close to a FE-17 a little smaller I think.
When I disassembled the guitar Steve from the forum collaborated together and I have a plan of the guitar.
It is not perfect but if you would like a copy I can email it to you anytime.
I have built an all Koa guitar from the plan it is a good sounding guitar.
Thanks again
Al

Very nice Alan, that's a beautiful and warm sounding guitar. Just the sound I like. That's quite a history for that guitar, and it's better than ever today.
